Wildlife Safaris
All my safaris are lead by top quality professional guides.
When the group size exceeds five people, I contract one of the guides below to complement and augment the guided safari experience that I offer. All bring special and unique attributes to the rather arcane practice of guiding safaris! When I am not available to guide, any one of the guides below can be contracted to guide the trip themselves. If you would like a reference from a previous guest who has enjoyed a safari with one of these guides please contact me.
Marc Baker
Marc is a keen naturalist with a broad understanding of Africa's environments, wildlife, people and history. Marc first came to Africa in 1977 with his family to live in Libya and in 1979 he moved with his family to Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania. Marc served in the British army for five years before studying Conservation Biology at Nottingham University. Whether surveying some of the remotest and unknown montane forests in Eastern Africa, or sitting by an open fire with a cold beer, Marc has combined his love for wildlife and adventure with a trained scientific eye and a passion for sharing his knowledge.
Allen Mnyenye
Allen is a self-taught safari guide who hales from Karatu in Tanzania's Northern Highlands near to The Ngorongoro Crater. He has guided for several companies in Arusha and now freelances between leading his own safaris. He is a partner in a tourist lodge near to Karatu and his easy charm and natural charisma makes him a memorable safari host
Corbett Bishop
Corbett is a self-confessed former Texan and expert mountaineer who came to Tanzania to seek adventure and wilderness. He is unapologetically passionate about wildlife conservation and as well as running his own safari company he has formed the Ol Tukai Conservancy to protect a key part of the ecosystem between Tarangire and Manyara National Parks.
Njano Mbilinyi
Njano is presently a guide at the exclusive Sayari Camp in Serengeti and brings a wide knowledge of wildlife and the environment to his guiding. He started out as a field assistant to many bird survey projects throughout Tanzania, including the Tanzania Bird Atlas and the GEF-UNDP Cross Border Biodversity Project. Because of this, his bird identification is second to none, and his field skills outstanding.
Paul Oliver
There is nothing I can say about Paul that he does not express eloquently on his own website. I am lucky to have worked on many safaris with Paul over the years and although he is often busy with his own trips, he and I guide together if he is available.
Gerard Marealle
Gerard is one of those safari guides with whom everyone connects. His easy humour and hearty laugh win you over every time, and then his sincere interest in wildlife and our protected areas comes through in the course of the safari. Gerard has the rare skill of balancing well-informed interpretive guiding with good natured sociability in all situations.
