Wildlife Film-Making
In conjunction with East African specialist wildlife film-maker Matt Aberhard, I am offering holidays for people with a passion for natural history films who have always dreamed of trying their hand behind the camera.
Matt has spent many years filming many animals in both TZ and Kenya, producing programmes such as The Golden Dog about Golden Jackals and has recently completed a documentary tracking the baboons of Lake Manyara National Park. With his experience of filming wild animals in Africa and my history of hosting specialist safaris, this opportunity to learn some tools of the trade while enjoying the thrill of being on safari is not to be missed.
All the logistics and back-up for your film-making safari are provided by Jo Anderson Safaris, and in most cases I will accompany the group for some or all of the trip.
Horseback Safaris
Having grown up in an equestrian family and, since 1995, lived in Tanzania, I am able to combine a high level of horsemanship and an intricate bush knowledge that makes it easy for me to organise short horseback safaris to wild and little visited corners of the Tanzanian bush. To spend a few days exploring on horseback with reliable and skilled back-up in any one of the open areas outside National Parks is seen as a great compliment to a traditional wildlife safari. I think that such a combination will appeal to those who routinely enjoy the pleasure of being out in the countryside on horseback but who also appreciate the chance to relax, shower and enjoy well prepared food in a comfortable camp at the end of the day.
